Hariom leads on Environment & Sustainability at the Infrastructure Projects Authority (HMT/Cabinet Office), where she is setting strategic direction to evaluate sustainability performance and create opportunities, in the delivery of theUK Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP), which has a total whole life value of over£800 bn. Her remit covers topics such as benefits identification, carbon reporting, innovation, procurement, adaptation, environmental impacts, social value, value for money, and reporting. She is currently developing cross government environmental measures and assurance processes for social and economic infrastructure.

Prior to joining the IPA, Hariom spent 16 years working in Shell, in a wide variety of roles including strategy, major project planning, and ESG.She worked on the Shell Sustainability report and Shell Group disclosures between 2011-2013 and has managed the mitigation of environmental and social risks in projects internationally.She has extensive experience of providing strategy and governance advice to large scale, operated and non-operated, infrastructure projects in the early project stages.
