Derek Wilson is Head of Sustainability at TfL Commercial Development, where he leads Transport for London’s efforts around economic development, environmental stewardship, and social impact across its 5,700 acre property estate and £10Bn pipeline of property development projects.
A chartered surveyor and transport-oriented development specialist with degrees in land economics and sustainable urban development, Derek has been responsible for the creation of the TfL Sustainable Development Framework. Using this approach, Derek led TfL to be awarded 5 Stars and recognised as the most sustainable diversified property development portfolio in Europe by GRESB, the leading international sustainability benchmark for property companies.
Derek currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the UK Green Building Council and chairs the Green Finance Institute’s Green Rental Agreements Working Group. He also serves on the Urban Land Institute’s EU Urban Regeneration Council and as an expert advisor to New London Architecture on net zero carbon.
